Alan Wake is 'done', finishing touches now being made

Posted at 21:44 GMT by Chris :: Comments: 0
Some reassuring news for all you patient AW fans out there. Remedy's Managing Director Matias Myllyrinne has told Joystiq that Alan Wake is now finished and the team are now putting all the finishing touches on it ready for it's Spring 2010 release.

After a GDC Europe presentation on how Remedy handles intellectual property, we asked the executive if the long-in-development title would be ready to wake when the snow melts. Myllyrinne noted, "It's all done, we're just polishing at this point."

Finally, we can now really look forward to the release, now just a mere 6 (give or take a few) months away. That may seem a long time, but remember this has been in development since 2005. This is a short time for us patient fans!

And the Alan Wake voice actor is...

IPB Image 'Idynwaitin' the Alan Wake fan Remedy mentioned in their community interview with Brightfalls.net has revealed Alan's voice actor in a post on the official Alan Wake forums.

Who that is? How did she figure it out? etc? Well I'll just be a lazy bum and go quote her original post from AlanWake.com

I want to thank you Markus and Remedy for allowing me the chance to reveal who is the voice actor of Alan Wake. I knew it immediately, once I saw the demo.

How do I know? Well, it just so happens that I have the official fansite for him.

I may be biased, but I think it was a fantastic pick for Remedy. He's a multi-talented actor that comes from a family of professional opera singers. He's been on Broadway as Marius from Les Miserables, starred in a Mel Brooks movie, as well on several TV shows. Okay! I know. GET ON WITH IT...WHO IS HE??!!

And the name of this very talented actor is...Matthew Porretta.

Or as some of you may know him,
"Will Scarlet O'Hara, we're from Georgia, (wink)"
